Prepaid credits and top-ups: how paying works
Top up DployHub credit with UPI, cards or netbanking via Razorpay, see how hourly charges use it, get low-balance alerts and learn what happens at zero.
Updated 4 min read
DployHub is prepaid. Instead of a bill at the end of the month, you keep a credit balance and your running apps use it hour by hour. You always know what you have left and how long it will last, and an app can never run up a bill you did not expect.
Top up your balance
- 1
Open Billing & credits
Go to the Billing page in the dashboard and click Top up.
- 2
Pick an amount
Choose ₹500, ₹1,000 or ₹2,000, or enter your own amount. The minimum top-up is ₹500 the first time and ₹300 after that. The total including 18% GST is shown before you pay.
- 3
Pay through Razorpay
Razorpay checkout opens. Pay with UPI, a debit or credit card, or netbanking.
- 4
Credit lands
Once the payment is confirmed the credit is added, you get a "Top-up received" alert and a tax invoice appears in the payments list.
Paying before the first deploy
A payment is needed before an app is deployed for the first time. When you click Pay & deploy, we check your balance. If it is not enough, checkout opens for the difference, and the deploy continues as soon as the payment goes through.
- Shared plan: ₹500 or one month of the app’s price, whichever is more, for your first app — and ₹300 (or one month) for each app after you’ve topped up once.
- Dedicated plan: one full month of the server price.
- The payment becomes credit on your balance; nothing is charged until the app is running.
How credit is used
Every hour, each running app takes its monthly price ÷ 730 from your balance. A shared app at 0.5 vCPU, 512 MB and 5 GB costs ₹255 a month, so it uses about ₹0.35 an hour. A stopped shared app uses nothing, and a stopped dedicated server is charged for its disk only. The transactions ledger shows every top-up and every hour of usage with the balance after it.
Balance, burn and runway
The Billing page shows three numbers: your balance, your burn per hour across all running apps, and your runway, which is how long the balance will last at the current burn. Starting, stopping or resizing apps changes the burn straight away.
Low-balance alerts
You get an alert when your runway falls below 7 days, and another when it falls below 2 days. A banner also appears in the dashboard when less than 2 days are left. Alerts go to the channels you chose on the alerts page, so it is worth sending them to WhatsApp or Telegram.
When the balance reaches zero
- 1
Grace period
Your apps keep running for 24 hours, and you get a "Credit used up" alert.
- 2
Suspension
If the balance is still at zero or below after 24 hours, every app is suspended: containers stop and dedicated servers are stopped.
- 3
Top up to resume
Top up and your apps start again automatically. Code, builds, settings, environment variables, domains and data under
/dataare all kept.
GST and invoices
GST at 18% is added to every top-up, and each top-up gets a tax invoice with one line, "Prepaid credit". Add your GSTIN in billing settings before topping up to claim input credit. See Invoices, GST and spend limits.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum top-up?
₹500 for your first top-up, then ₹300 for every top-up after that — plus 18% GST.
Which payment methods work?
UPI, debit and credit cards, and netbanking, through Razorpay.
Do I lose my apps if my credit runs out?
No. After a 24-hour grace period apps are suspended, but nothing is deleted. A top-up starts them again.
