Shared vs dedicated: which plan is right for your app?
Compare the DployHub shared plan and dedicated servers: who each is for, sizes, prices, limits and how to choose for small apps or high-traffic production.
Updated 4 min read
Every DployHub app runs on one of two plans. Both give you the same workflow: auto-deploy, zero-downtime releases, rollback, logs, metrics, automatic HTTPS and alerts. The difference is where your app runs and how much room it gets. This guide helps you pick.
Shared: for small apps and low traffic
On the shared plan your app runs as a lightweight Docker container on a DployHub server, next to other small apps. Each container has hard limits on CPU, memory, processes and network access, so a busy neighbour cannot slow you down and nobody can reach your app except through the HTTPS proxy.
- Sizes: 0.25 to 2 vCPU, 256 MB to 4 GB memory, 1 to 10 GB storage.
- Price: ₹300 per vCPU, ₹150 per GB of memory and ₹6 per GB of storage per month, from ₹118.50 a month.
- Resize any time from Settings, applied with a quick restart.
- Good for: personal sites, landing pages, bots, webhooks, internal tools, small APIs and early-stage products.
Dedicated: your own server for high traffic
On the dedicated plan we create a server just for your app in Mumbai, install DployHub on it and deploy your app there. No other customer runs anything on it. You never see a cloud console or manage the machine; we patch and monitor it like the rest of the platform.
- Sizes: seven, from Starter (2 vCPU, 2 GB) to X-Large (8 vCPU, 32 GB), with 20 to 1000 GB of disk.
- Price: a fixed monthly price per size, from ₹2,682 a month with 40 GB of disk.
- Creating the server usually takes a few minutes, shown step by step in the deploy log.
- Good for: production apps with steady or high traffic, memory-hungry services, and apps that need more than 2 vCPU or 4 GB.

- 1
Start with traffic
If you expect a few thousand visits a day or fewer, start on shared. You can watch real usage in the Metrics tab before spending more.
- 2
Check the limits
If your app needs more than 2 vCPU, 4 GB of memory or 10 GB of storage, it belongs on a dedicated server.
- 3
Think about steadiness
Apps that are busy all day, or that cannot tolerate sharing CPU with anyone, are a better fit for dedicated even at smaller sizes.
- 4
Compare the cost
The largest shared size is ₹1,500 a month. If you are near that and still growing, the Starter or Small dedicated server is the next step.
What is the same on both
- Prepaid credit, charged by the hour. See Prepaid credits and top-ups.
- Zero-downtime deploys behind a health check, and one-click rollback to any of the last 5 builds.
- Persistent storage at
/data, custom domains with HTTPS, encrypted environment variables and alerts.

Frequently asked questions
Which plan should a new app start on?
Usually shared. It is cheaper, resizable at any time, and shows you real CPU and memory use before you commit to a server.
Is my app safe on a shared server?
Yes. Each container has hard CPU, memory and process limits and cannot reach other apps or the host network.
What happens if a shared app hits its limits?
It is held to its size and you get an alert. Shared apps are never suspended for resource use. See Shared app limits.
