Choose which DployHub events notify you, such as failed deploys, downtime and invoices, and receive alerts by email, WhatsApp or Telegram.
Updated 3 min read
Alerts tell you when something needs your attention, so you do not have to keep the dashboard open. You choose where alerts go and which events trigger them on the Notifications page.
Channels
- Email: alerts go to your account email.
- WhatsApp: alerts are delivered to your WhatsApp number through CallMeBot. You enter your WhatsApp number and a CallMeBot API key.
- Telegram: link our bot to your Telegram account and alerts arrive as bot messages.
You can turn on more than one channel. After setting one up, use Send a test to make sure messages arrive.
Set up WhatsApp alerts
- 1
Get a CallMeBot API key
Follow the CallMeBot instructions for WhatsApp to activate it for your number. CallMeBot sends you an API key.
- 2
Enter your number and key
On the Notifications page, enter your WhatsApp number with country code and the API key, then save.
- 3
Send a test
Click Send a test. A test alert should arrive on WhatsApp within a few seconds.
Set up Telegram alerts
- 1
Link the bot
On the Notifications page, choose Telegram and follow the link to our bot.
- 2
Start the bot
Open the bot in Telegram and start it to connect your account.
- 3
Send a test
Back on the Notifications page, click Send a test to confirm.
Events you can be alerted about
- Deploys: Deploy started (off by default), Deploy succeeded, Deploy failed, Version went live.
- Health: App is down, App storage almost full, Staging stopped after a week idle.
- Billing: Invoice issued, Payment received, Payment failed, Spend limit reached.
- Support: Reply on a support ticket, Support ticket status changed.
A good starting setup
- Send App is down and Deploy failed to a channel you see quickly, such as WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Keep billing events on email so you have a record.
- Leave Deploy started off unless you deploy rarely; with auto-deploy on it can get noisy.
- Keep App storage almost full on, so you can add storage before writes fail.
Not receiving alerts?
Check that the event is switched on and that the channel is set up, then use Send a test. For email, look in your spam folder. For WhatsApp, check the number includes the country code and the CallMeBot key is correct. If tests still do not arrive, raise a ticket.
